John Matthews Architects is currently under contract with the Cities of San Mateo, Millbrae, and South San Francisco doing storefront design for their Redevelopment Agencies. We have completed over fifty projects. These include several historical restorations, new restaurant exteriors as well as the interiors, minor projects consisting of color schemes and graphic design of signs, and major projects which constitute an entire facelift of the facade.
The California Preservation Foundation presented a design award to John Matthews Architects in 1999 for our work on the Hotel Saint Matthew and First Watch restaurant in San Mateo. Current projects include: a mixed use development adding apartments over retail development in Millbrae, three major facelift projects in Millbrae, and two facelift projects in South San Francisco.
