We have completed well over one hundred single family projects. Of these there are five new homes and the rest are remodelings and additions to homes in the San Francisco Bay Area. Many are second story additions. The great challenge with second story additions is to make the new and old blend together seamlessly and at the same time add vitality and spatial dynamics to the interior and exterior. Current major projects include remodelings of two Italian Villas and two new homes.
John Matthews Architects considers the single family work we do to be very special. Our firm was founded on that type of work and we plan to continue doing it regardless of the other commissions we may have. These projects are very rewarding experiences. We treasure the relationships which often develop with our clients.
